Signing order
Signing order controls the sequence in which recipients receive and complete a signature request - either all at once or one actor at a time.
Two modes
| Mode | Behavior | Choose when |
|---|---|---|
| Parallel | All signers get the request the moment it's sent and sign in any order. | Speed matters and nobody's signature depends on reading another's first. |
| Sequential | Signer 2 is notified only after signer 1 completes. Each step gates the next. | Approval flows where each person signs off in turn. See Sequential signing. |
Setting the order
Choose parallel or sequential in the send dialog. For sequential, order the signer list - the request flows top to bottom. Templates can predefine a default order you adjust per send.
Changing order in flight
For requests still awaiting their first signature, you can usually reorder or remove a pending signer from the request details. Once signing has started, changes are locked for safety.
