Sending & signing FAQs

Common questions about creating signing requests, working with multiple signers, and completing signatures.

Can I send one signing request to multiple signers?

Yes. You can add multiple signers to a signing request and assign the required fields to each signer.

You can choose whether signers can complete the request in any order or enable Sequential Signing when they need to sign in a specific order.

See Send for Signature.

What does a signer see?

A signer opens the signing request using the link provided to them. They can view the document, complete the fields assigned to them, and submit their signature.

When multiple signers are involved, Field Visibility determines whether a signer can see values entered by other signers.

Does a signer need an Undersign account?

No. Remote signers can access and complete their signing request using the signing link provided by email. They do not need to create an Undersign account.

Can I remind a signer?

For remote signing requests, you can use Resend from the request's details page to send the signing email again to a pending signer.

See After Sending.

Can I change a signing request after it has been sent?

Changes made to the original template do not change a signing request that has already been sent.

If the request needs to be corrected, review the available actions for the request and create a new signing request with the correct information where necessary.

What happens if a signer declines?

The signing request is marked Declined when a signer declines to sign. If the documents still need to be signed, you can create and send a new signing request after addressing the reason for the decline.

See Document Status.

Can signers see each other's information?

This depends on the Field Visibility setting configured for the signing request.

Private: signers cannot see values entered by other signers.
Visible to all: signers can see values entered by other signers.

Field Visibility controls the visibility of entered field values between signers; it does not change which fields are assigned to each signer.

See Field Visibility.
