In-person signing
When a signer is physically with you - at a counter, closing, or meeting - you sign on your device together. No email is involved, and the result carries the same legal weight as remote signing.
How it works
Prepare the request
Build the request as normal, and set the signer's mode to in-person.
Open the signing page
On your device, open the request's signing screen. You stay in control of the device.
Hand it over
Pass the device to the signer. They review the document and complete their assigned fields.
They sign and submit
The signature is captured exactly as it would be remotely, with the mode recorded in the audit trail.
Retrieve after
When they're done, you keep the device and the completed document moves to completed.
Privacy while signing
Take reasonable care: the signer sees only the document and their fields. Passwords, other apps, and unrelated data on your device aren't part of the signing experience.
Mixing modes
A single request can mix email and in-person signers - remote executives plus a walk-in guest, for instance. See Add signers for per-signer mode.
