Audit trails
Undersign maintains an audit trail for each signing request. It provides a chronological record of signing activity and other important events associated with the request, making it easier to review what happened and when.
What the audit trail records
The audit trail can include details such as:
- Signer name and email address
- Signing and document-related events
- Date and time of each event
- Signer IP address, where applicable
- Signature and initials activity
- Status and completion events
- The documents included in the signing request
The exact information recorded depends on the activity and signing request.
Document integrity
The completion certificate includes a SHA-256 hash for each document in the completed signing request. This provides a way to verify the identity of the document associated with the signing record.
The certificate also includes the signer activity and audit trail log, providing a consolidated record of the completed signing process.
Completion Certificate
For completed signing requests, the audit information is included in the Certificate of Completion. The certificate provides a summary of:
- Signing request and completion details
- Sender information and account timezone
- Documents included in the request
- SHA-256 document hashes
- Signer information and signing activity
- IP addresses, where recorded
- Signatures and initials
- Audit trail events, details, and timestamps
The certificate can be downloaded separately, or included with the signed documents when downloading them.
See Audit trail for documents for more information.
