Bulk signing FAQs

Common questions about creating many signature requests at once with Bulk Signing.

What is Bulk Signing?

Bulk Signing lets you create multiple independent signature requests from a single batch using recipient information supplied through a CSV file.

How is Bulk Signing different from Send for Signature?

Send for Signature is designed for individually configured signature requests. Bulk Signing is designed for creating many similar requests efficiently from a CSV.

Does Bulk Signing send one document to everyone?

No. Each recipient gets an independent signature request.

How many recipients can I include?

The available batch size depends on your Undersign account/plan limits. The CSV workflow is designed for high-volume signing operations.

Can I select more than one template?

Yes. Multiple templates can be selected where the workflow requires a document package containing more than one template/document.

Why should I download the sample CSV?

The sample CSV is generated based on the selected templates and provides the expected recipient data structure.

Can I reuse a CSV?

Yes, provided it is prepared using the correct structure for the templates selected for the new batch. Always review the recipient data before uploading it.

What happens after I create the batch?

Undersign creates the individual signature requests represented by the valid recipient rows and processes them according to the configured signing mode and preferences.

Can I track the progress of a batch?

Yes. Bulk Signature History provides batch-level progress and status information.

Are bulk requests independent?

Yes. Each recipient has their own signature request, status, signing process, completed document, and associated audit information.

What happens if one recipient fails to sign?

It does not prevent the other recipients from completing their requests.

Can I cancel a bulk request?

Outstanding requests can be managed/cancelled according to their current state. Completed requests remain completed.

Is Bulk Signing suitable for recurring monthly processes?

Yes. It is particularly useful when the same type of document needs to be sent to a large group repeatedly. A new batch can be created for each cycle using the appropriate recipient data.
