Documentation Documents
Core concepts

Track your documents

The Documents section is where you track documents that have been sent for signature. A document can be one or more templates included in a signing request, and each request is tracked until it is completed or declined.

From here, you can see whether signatures are still pending, the signing has been completed, or the request was declined.

How documents work

When you create a signing request, you select one or more templates and set up the signers and signing fields. Once the request is sent, the selected templates become part of a document signing request that you can track under Documents.

A signing request can contain one or multiple documents.

For example, you might send a single agreement for signature, or send several documents together as part of the same request.

Document statuses

Documents are organized into three main statuses:

StatusWhat it means
SentThe signing request has been sent and is waiting for one or more signers to complete their required fields. You can track signing progress and follow up with signers.
CompletedAll required signers have completed the signing request. The completed signed documents and signing records are available.
DeclinedA signer has declined the signing request. The request and its details remain available so you can review what happened and take the appropriate action.

View document details

Each document has a details page where you can view the signing request and its activity.

Depending on the document's status, you can see:

This gives you a complete view of what has happened with a signing request and what you can do next.

Managing documents

Use the Sent, Completed, and Declined sections under Documents to find and manage your signing requests.

You can also use Search and Filter to quickly find a specific signing request.
