Control signer field visibility
Before you start
- A multi-signer template.
- A sense of what each signer should and shouldn't see.
A typical example
Signer 1 sees and fills fields A, B, C. Signer 2 sees and fills fields D, E. Each party completes their own part without seeing the rest.
The workflow
- Assign each field to its owner.
- Configure cross-signer visibility rules.
- Preview as each signer.
- Send.
Step 1: Assign fields to owners
Each field belongs to one signer. Assign every field to the person who completes it. See Configure fields.
Step 2: Configure visibility rules
Set who can see which fields beyond their own, for example, a manager seeing the employee's signed fields. See Field visibility.
Step 3: Preview as each signer
Preview the document as each signer before sending. Confirm each sees exactly the right fields.
Step 4: Send
Send the request. Each signer gets a view limited to their role's fields.
What happens next?
Sensitive fields stay out of sight, and each signer's experience is simpler, they see only their part. This is the foundation of multi-signer workflows.
