Templates

Templates are reusable document configurations containing signer roles and signable fields. Send the same template repeatedly by referencing its template_id.

What a template is

A template is a document prepared once in Undersign with signer roles and field placements. When you create a signature request, you supply the template's template_id and the signers assigned to it, the document and its field layout are reused automatically.

Listing templates

GET /templates

Retrieves the templates available to your account with metadata such as title, status and number of signers.

List response fields include template_id, template_title, template_file, template_type, template_draft and is_delete. See List Templates for the complete field list.

Retrieving template details

GET /templates/{template_id}

Retrieves a single template's metadata plus its configured signers and fields.

Details add a signers_with_fields array describing each signer role and the fields assigned to it. See Get Template Details.
